Public Community Meeting #1 · July 8, 2026This is connected to the Millennium Power plant and other solar infrastructure, and it is close to Cady Brook and the nature preserve. A fire could affect the sanctuary, the storage facilities, and the power plant at the same time. You need protections around those areas.
We have noted this recommendation. Our containment design is built to keep an incident to a single battery unit; in the US record, fires at the older Megapack sites stayed within one or two units. Our site plan will fully account for adjacent properties, including the power plant, the energy storage facilities, and the nature preserve.

No. National Grid planned and carried out those upgrades for future use, and not for this project. National Grid does have to approve our connection, and it studies whether we can connect safely under its standards.
