This history preserves the anonymized wording and earlier written responses in the imported project records. Earlier responses may describe a previous design or contain wording now under review. Use the linked consolidated question for the current response status.

A source record can contain several questions. These records are not a count of individual submissions or people. Original messages and dates are still being reconciled; this history does not establish that every project submission has been captured.

Public Community Meeting #1 · July 8, 2026I drive by there constantly. What will the traffic be during construction, and are the roads rated for the big trucks that will come in?

Earlier published response

Construction will be temporary, lasting roughly 18 months. We will coordinate all truck routes and timing directly with the town. We are also reviewing the capacity of local roads to handle construction traffic, and we will address any potential impacts before work begins. Since the utility used Carpenter Hill Road to construct the two existing substations, the road is already rated for heavier truck loads. However, we can and should discuss terms in the Community Benefit Plan, such as road bonding, to cover any repairs for damage attributable to the project.

A written response is recorded. Sending an individual reply, considering feedback, and making a design change require separate evidence.

Public Community Meeting #1 · July 8, 2026My concerns are the NFPA regulations, lightning, and site drainage. Charlton had a real problem with solar developers running wild, and the damage was to the land, not controlling runoff, not controlling soil depletion, particularly during construction. Also the lifespan of the project and that it should be decommissioned.

Earlier published response

During construction, we will follow strict erosion and stormwater controls, including silt fences, soil re-establishment, and cover cropping. These measures prevent the runoff and compaction problems that occurred during past projects in town. Our equipment meets all applicable NFPA fire codes. We cover the lightning analysis in the safety section above, and we address the lifespan and decommissioning plans below.
