This history preserves the anonymized wording and earlier written responses in the imported project records. Earlier responses may describe a previous design or contain wording now under review. Use the linked consolidated question for the current response status.

A source record can contain several questions. These records are not a count of individual submissions or people. Original messages and dates are still being reconciled; this history does not establish that every project submission has been captured.

Website and email · August 4, 2026What legally enforceable financial protection will exist if contamination is discovered years later or after the project changes ownership?

Earlier written draft (answers as of October 7, 2026)

Water protection must stay with the project through agreement terms that bind future owners, permit conditions, or secured funds, because ownership is expected to change. Our position on the record is that well-water protection belongs among the items that receive binding treatment. The specific instrument will be determined through the plan process and the town's negotiation, supported by its own experts.

Website and email · August 4, 2026What responsibilities continue if contamination is discovered after the facility closes?

Earlier written draft (answers as of October 7, 2026)

Environmental liability under Massachusetts law does not end when a facility closes. That default standard still requires a resident to establish the claim and wait for resolution, which is not sufficient on its own. Discovery after closure will be addressed within the same enforceable framework as the late-discovery question above, with its mechanism stated in the draft plan and the decommissioning conditions.
