This history preserves the anonymized wording and earlier written responses in the imported project records. Earlier responses may describe a previous design or contain wording now under review. Use the linked consolidated question for the current response status.
A source record can contain several questions. These records are not a count of individual submissions or people. Original messages and dates are still being reconciled; this history does not establish that every project submission has been captured.

Public Community Meeting #1 Β· July 8, 2026I have read about incidents in California with these battery centers. What happens if the worst happens and there is a fire? How are you protecting those of us who live around there? There have been reports of toxic chemicals and people getting sick from explosions.
We understand and validate your safety concerns regarding high-profile incidents like the Otay Mesa fire in California. To protect the surrounding neighborhood, our design uses four levels of safety. First, the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry is inherently less prone to thermal runaway than other chemistries. Second, each container has an automated off-gas detection system that triggers deflagration venting before any gas build-up can occur. Third, the equipment sits approximately 500 feet from the nearest residential building, which is the landowner's own home. Fourth, we are drafting a community-specific Emergency Action Plan with Charlton Fire. The lessons from California show that spraying water can actually prolong fires and create runoff, so our protocol favors controlled burnout of an isolated cabinet. We will present a complete, independent fire safety analysis at our webinar on August 19.
How the issues were handled
A written response is recorded. Sending an individual reply, considering feedback, and making a design change require separate evidence.
What about the fires in California and elsewhere? Individual reply: not confirmed. Consideration: not recorded. Design change: not confirmed.
