This history preserves the anonymized wording and earlier written responses in the imported project records. Earlier responses may describe a previous design or contain wording now under review. Use the linked consolidated question for the current response status.

A source record can contain several questions. These records are not a count of individual submissions or people. Original messages and dates are still being reconciled; this history does not establish that every project submission has been captured.

Public Community Meeting #1 · July 8, 2026What is the mutual aid plan? What will people do for themselves when the power is out and it is not in their hands? How much wattage is available for these houses? You said peak demand, four hours, 120,000 homes, so how much is it really worth?

Earlier published response

The facility does not act as a local backup generator, so it will not supply power directly to neighborhood homes during a blackout. Instead, it stores energy and feeds the regional grid, holding enough stored energy to serve up to 120,000 homes for about four hours. The project benefits the community by supporting grid reliability during peak demand periods and generating negotiated funding for the town.

Community Public Forum · September 30, 2026Where does the power go in a blackout?

Earlier published response

The regional grid operator decides, not ESA and not the state, and electricity goes to the nearest demand. The project is built to support the grid as a whole. It is not built to back up individual homes.

Website and email · July 6, 2026, 12:21 PM ET[...] will these megapacks provide backup power to my batteries in case of town wide power outages?

Earlier written draft (answers as of October 7, 2026)

No. The facility is built to support the regional grid as a whole and is not built to back up individual homes or home batteries. In a blackout, the regional grid operator decides where electricity goes, and it goes to the nearest demand. Residents have asked about bill credits and other direct energy benefits. No such benefit is promised, and none is agreed.
