This history preserves the anonymized wording and earlier written responses in the imported project records. Earlier responses may describe a previous design or contain wording now under review. Use the linked consolidated question for the current response status.
A source record can contain several questions. These records are not a count of individual submissions or people. Original messages and dates are still being reconciled; this history does not establish that every project submission has been captured.

Public Community Meeting #1 · July 8, 2026Will it increase our rates? You sell at the higher rate and take from the grid when it is cheaper, so will the grid just charge more?
Adding energy capacity during peak demand periods actually pushes electricity prices down rather than up. Although the facility buys low and sells high, the extra supply during peak hours lowers the overall market rate. This extra capacity also reduces the need to run expensive, polluting backup power plants.

Community Public Forum · September 30, 2026Will my electric bill go down? Residents on a road with three solar farms said theirs did not.
We have not promised any share of a household's electric bill. Rising electricity prices are a national trend driven by higher demand. Charlton buys power in bulk, so a benefit tied to bills would have to be negotiated with the town and with National Grid. At the public meeting this was raised as one idea. Nothing is agreed.

Website and email · August 4, 2026Will Charlton residents receive reduced electric rates, bill credits, backup power, or any direct improvement in electrical reliability?
Earlier written draft (answers as of October 7, 2026)
A storage facility does not lower Charlton electric bills directly. It supports the reliability of the regional grid, an effect that is spread across the region rather than visible on an individual bill.
